Review: Caudalie Beauty Elixir

Hi everyone,

I have decided to review a product from Caudalie that I used to use when I first getting into skincare around seven or eight years ago. This was my first introduction into the Caudalie brand all those years ago.

The Caudalie Beauty Elixir can be used for a number of different purposes such as a setting spray, make up refresher or a facial spray that can be used to calm your nerves when your feeling a little stressed or anxious. It has a lovely calming fragrance of lavender and peppermint, which will help you to relax once it has been sprayed.

Claims
- A multi tasking face mist that sets make up, tones and tightens pores, and it also gives the skin an instant boost of radiance.
- The Beauty Elixir has a unique and invigorating formula that has been inspired by the Youth Elixir of the Queen of Hungary back in the 16th Century.
- Made of 100% natural origin ingredients, as well as powerful plant extracts. The complexion receives an instant radiance boost, while also tightening the pores, and smoothing fine lines and make up creases.
- The aromatic fragrance is both uplifting and calming for the mind and senses

Green Grape - Helps to boost radiance and adds moisture to the skin
Peppermint Essential Oil - Helps to tone and awaken the skin
Rose Essential Oil - Anti shine and helps to add glow to the complexion
Rosemary Essential Oil - Is both anti inflammatory and antibacterial
Myrrhe Oil - Helps to tone the skin

This is lovely facial spray to use whether it is just for a little pick-me-up, to help you relax or another thing I have used it for is before I go to bed to help me to sleep a little better. I also like that it contains essential oils within the formula to help aid the relaxation. It's a lovely facial spray with a fine mist.

Cult Products That I Love

Hi everyone,

I'm going to share with you some of my favourite cult beauty products that I'm still using or have used in the past.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
I decided to purchase the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette as I really like the combination of the warm neutral shades alongside a few pops of colour. For me personally, this out performs the original but now discontinued Naked palette from Urban Decay; as I can work with the eyeshadows in this palette a little better. I also prefer the prefer the shades in this palette compared to the Naked palette, as the shades seem to suit my skin tone a little better. I also have the Too Faced Chocolate Bons Bons palette, which is a cool neutral eyeshadow palette. The Chocolate Bar palette also smells like chocolate.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks
These were my first introduction into liquid lipsticks a few years ago, and I really like the formula of these liquid lipsticks as they aren't too drying on the lips, as well as being fairly long lasting. Also, these liquid lipsticks have a lightweight formula and you can also reapply to lips easily without it looking cakey or cracked. I have the shades 'Queen B' and 'Sell Out'. 'Queen B' is a mauve shade, and the shade 'Sell Out' is a midtone brown neutral even though as if its going to be a pink neutral shade.

MAC Lipsticks
I love the lipsticks from MAC, as they offer a range of shades and different finishes and textures. These are just a good staple to have in any make up collection.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I've started to get back into enjoying the Beauty Elixir from Caudalie, as I find it really relaxing to use especially if I'm feeling a little stressed or in need of a pick me up. It has a lovely scent of lavender and eucalyptus. Just don't overdo it, especially if you have dry skin, as I've found that if you overdo just a little bit then it will dry your skin out. But it is a really lovely product to use if you are looking for something to relax you a little bit.

Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil
This is a fabulous product use, especially if you have fine hair like myself. It's a lightweight oil that adds quite a bit of volume to the hair once applied. The best way I have found to use this oil is after I have washed my hair, and after it has been towel dried. I find one to two pumps on towel dried hair works wonders for adding volume.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
This has become my favourite eye cream to use as part of my evening skincare routine, as it has adds a lovely bit of hydration to the under eye area that I can feel the following morning when I wake up.

Alpha H Liquid Gold
This was the product that introduced the use of glycolic acid into my skincare routine. I've gone through around four bottles of this over the years, and this is a brilliant chemical exfoliator. I only use glycolic acid in my skincare routine once or twice a week at the most, as that is all that my skin needs.

Lancome Energie de Vie Overnight Mask
This is a lovely overnight mask from Lancome, and it's also what got me into using overnight masks as part of my evening skincare routine. I actually prefer using an overnight mask to a regular night time moisturiser, as I find that it hydrates my skin a bit more and I can also tell the difference in my skin when I wake up the following morning.

Clinique 'Take the Day Off' Cleansing Balm & Cleansing Oil
I really enjoy using both the Clinique 'Take the Day Off' cleansing balm and cleansing oil as the first step of my evening skincare routine, as I find that they work effectively as a first cleanse of my double cleansing evening routine. The cleansing oil goes a very long way, as I find that I only need to use a pump to get the job done, and with the cleansing balm I only need a small amount to warm up in between my hands to also become effective. I also like how much you get for money, as I can get around 6 - 8 months out of each cleanser.

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
This is a brilliant exfoliator for anyone who has oily/ combination skin like myself, as its really effective at removing the dead skin cells without stripping the skin. It's also quite a gritty exfoliator, so it gets the job done really easily.

Review: Rituals 'The Ritual of Nameste' First Essence

Hi everyone,

I have been wanting to add an essence into my skincare routine for quite a while, but they all seemed to be on high side of the price spectrum. So, when I noticed that Rituals offered an essence at a more affordable price I decided that I would give it a whirl and add into my evening skincare routine.

Claims

First essence prepares the skin to absorb your next treatments such as serum and moisturiser; while also helping to restore natural moisture balance. The formula is absorbed quickly into the skin and leaves it feeling replenished, soft and ready for the next stages of your skincare routine.

Saffron Flower - known as the 'red gold of the East', contains antioxidants and anti wrinkle properties

Holy Lotus - is a symbol of purity, beauty and wisdom, and is known for its soothing and caring properties

Apply twice daily onto a clean face before you apply your serums, oils and moisturiser. Warm a few drops in your hands and gently press over your face and neck.

It took around a week for my skin to get used to the essence, as it is a more concentrated form of skincare. The essence has a lovely, lightweight feel and it sinks into the skin straight away. It also has a luxurious scent, which adds to the skincare experience.

I'm really happy that I have decided to include an essence into my evening skincare routine. My complexion does have a more natural glow too it, but that could be due to the combination of this essence and the Vitamin C serum that I'm currently using.

Product Empties - October 2019

Hi everyone,

It's time for another 'Products I've Used Up'.

Kedma Kiwi Body Scrub & Body Butter
I purchased the Kedma kiwi body scrub and body butter around 18 months ago. I've used one of their body scrubs in the past, but in the peach scent. The body scrubs last around a year, and the body butter maybe a bit longer. The body butter took a while to sink into the skin, and the body scrub I really enjoyed using. I've got another body scrub to use, but this time in the lemon fragrance.

L'Oreal Elvive Phytoclear Shampoo
I've gone through one these before, and I really enjoy using it as it does a really good at sorting out my oily roots. I would repurchase, but I'm currently trying something else out.

Herbal Essence White Tea & Mint Conditioner
This is just a really lightweight conditioner that did the job. I'm not too sure if I would repurchase.

Herbal Essences Coconut Milk Hydrating Shampoo
I started to use this shampoo when I used to colour my hair to give it a boost of hydration. Not too sure if I would repurchase, as it may have over hydrated my hair a little too much.

D.W Home Blue Hawaii Single Wick Candle
The scent throw on this candle was okay when it decided it would throw, but the Blue Hawaii scent is gorgeous, as its a light, sweet citrus scent. It actually reminded me of the Juicee orange, lemon and pineapple cordial I used to drink when I was younger.

Superdrug Shower Gels in Blueberry & Acai, Strawberry & Raspberry, and Watermelon & Pomegrante.
I really enjoyed the fragrances of each of these shower gels, and the formula of these shower gels foamed up to a creamy lather. My favourite of these scents was the watermelon and pomegranate.

Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil
This is one facial oil that I adore having in my skincare routine. It smells divine, and it sinks into the skin straight away. I'm currently on my third bottle, and I have a fourth ready and waiting.

Alpha H Liquid Gold
This is the second bottle of Alpha H liquid gold that I have used up, and its still one of my favourite glycolic acid treatments as it's really effective as a chemical exfoliator.

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate
I love having this as part of my morning skincare routine. It's just a really lovely product that sinks into the skin straight away. I'm currently on my third bottle.

Kiehl's Cucumber Alcohol Free Toner
This is a lovely toner to use from Kiehl's and it isn't stripping to the skin, and I miss having it as part of my morning skincare routine. It took me around a year to finish this bottle, so a little really does go a long way.

Body Shop Seaweed Toner
I had this as part of my evening skincare routine, as I wanted something a little more purifying to the skin at the time. I think this is either my third or forth bottle that I have gone through, and I would repurchase if I didn't have a number of other toners to use up.

Rituals & Pixi Haul

Hi everyone,

I recently done a little bit of shopping in our new Rituals store in Manchester, as I'm really enjoying exploring the brand. Rituals is known for being luxurious and also affordable, which is something that is appealing to myself. I also just had to pick up a product from the Pixi Beauty range.

Pixi Rose Tonic
I have decided to purchase the Rose Tonic from Pixi to replace my evening when it runs out, as the one which I'm currently using I'm going through it really quickly; which is very unusual for me. This has a lovely rose fragrance, and I'm looking forward to seeing what this is like in my evening skincare routine.

Rituals 'The Ritual of Nameste' First Essence for Radiance
I've been wanting to add an essence into my skincare routine for a while, but I've never quite 'bitten the bullet', as they can be quite pricey depending on which brand you choose to purchase from. I decided to go for the Rituals one as its not as expensive as some of the other essences I've come across. This went straight into my evening skincare routine, and I'm enjoying using so far.

Rituals 'The Ritual of Nameste' Cleansing Balm
Because I'm interested in exploring the Rituals skincare line I have decided to pick up the cleansing balm to see how it compares to the cleansing oil I purchased last month, and to see which one I prefer as part of my evening skincare routine. Also the cleansing balm comes with a flannel, which I didn't realise at the time of buying.

Rituals 'The Ritual of Karma' Candle
The 'Ritual of Karma' is one of favourite ranges that Rituals offer, so I have decided to purchase a candle of that scent. The scent is holy lotus and white tea, and their candles are made using sunflower oil. I'm really looking forward to burning this candle as I think it will be quite relaxing.

Rituals 'The Ritual of Hammam' Body Scrub (GWP)
Because I spent over so much, as was allowed to choose a body scrub of my choice as a free gift. I decided to with the body scrub from the 'Ritual of Hammam' range as its ginger and eucalyptus; which sounds delicious.

I'm really looking to using all of the products that I have purchased this month, and seeing if they will suit my skincare needs.

Review: Boots No.7 Radiant Results Revitalising Toner

Hi everyone,

I have been using the Boots No.7 Radiant Results Revitalising Toner as part of my evening skincare routine for a good few months, and I would like to share my thoughts on this product with you.

Claims
- Radiant and healthier looking energised skin
- Tri-Vit complex that contains Vitamins C, E and B5 and also Red Ginseng

A multi tasking toning water to help prepare the skin after cleansing. Helps to reduce the appearance of pores, for a clear and more even looking complexion. Leaves skin looking renewed, and feeling toned, soft and revitalised.

Each No.7 toning water is formulated to help protect your skin's natural, healthy balance.

I'm really enjoying using this toning water from No.7 as it leaves my skin feeling soft and more hydrated than the previous toner that I was using. I have oily/combination skin and it gets rid of all of excess oil that my skin produces really well, while also leaving it feeling soft. Also, with the toner being from the No.7 brand it also makes it ideal if your on a budget for your skincare routine.

Bath & Body Haul 2019

Hi everyone,

I have recently had a little stock up of bath and body products, as I was currently running low on a few items.

Dove Invigorating Ritual Body Lotion
I've always fancied trying the body lotions from Dove, especially from the newish Invigorating Rituals range. The body lotion that is formulated with avocado smells divine, also you seem to get quite a lot of product despite the budget price tag; so its going to last me a good while once I start using it.

Soap & Glory Bubble in Paradise Body Wash
This is the latest range that has been released by Soap & Glory, and the 'Bubble in Paradise' body wash smells amazingly fruity; especially the mango scent which is something that I'm not usually a fan of in body wash.

Faith in Nature Watermelon Body Wash
I've always fancied trying the body wash range from 'Faith in Nature', but I could never find a scent that I appealed to me until I stumbled across the Watermelon scent in TK Maxx. This Watermelon scent is more of a natural watermelon scent, rather than the sweet shop variety.

Rituals 'The Ritual of Karma' Shower Oil
The 'Ritual of Karma' range from Rituals is one of favourite ranges that Rituals offer, as it has a floral freshness that I really like. I can't use the shower foams as I'm allergic to an ingredient that is in them, but they do offer a shower oil. The shower oil has a really nice lather and it foams up beautifully. It's also offers a little moisture to the skin.

Body Shop Shower Gels in Cactus Blossom, Wild Argan Oil & Olive
I love the shower gels from the Body Shop, and I have been using them for years. I have decided to repurchase the scents Cactus Blossom and Wild Argan Oil, as Wild Argan Oil is one of favourite scents that the Body Shop offers, and Cactus Blossom is the Limited Edition scent for the summer that I really like. The Olive shower gel is completely new to me, but it has a lovely floral freshness too it that I really like.

Neal's Yard Aromatic Shower Gel
I've had Neal's Yard products in the past, but they were more skincare based. The Aromatic shower has a lovely, relaxing lavender fragrance that I'm really looking forward to using; it was also the range that appealed to me the most.

Neal's Yard Soothing Aromatic Collection
The Neal's Yard Soothing Aromatic collection has a travel size body butter and foaming bath in the Aromatic fragrance. I was tempted to buy a full size body butter, until I saw this little gift set. I'm looking forward to using the Aromatic range from Neal's Yard.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Wash & Body Lotion
The Sugar Crush range from Soap & Glory is one of favourite ranges, as I really love the fresh citrus fragrance that this range has. I haven't used this range from Soap & Glory in years, but it still smells as delightful as when I had first used it. I have decided to repurchase the body wash, as I really enjoyed it using it all those years ago. But I also decided to pick up the body lotion from this range, as I fancied using something a little lighter to moisturise my skin after I have had a shower. The body lotion contains AHAs, which I didn't realise until after I had picked it up.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream
This is another product from the Sugar Crush range from Soap & Glory that I really enjoyed using all those years ago. The Sugar Crush body buttercream has a lovely thick consistency that sinks into the skin straight away. It's also hydrating to the skin, plus the scent also lingers on the skin for quite a while once it has been applied.

Safe to say that I'm now stocked up on body butters, body lotions and shower gels for the next six months or so. I went just a little bit bonkers without even realising that I had a purchased so many of each item.
