Review: Pixi Rose Tonic

Hi everyone,

I have been using the Pixi Rose Tonic over the past few months, as part of my evening skincare routine.

This is a lovely toner to use as part of either a daytime or evening skincare routine, as it refreshes the skin while also having a mild rose fragrance. This toner also removes any dirt or debris that has collected on your skin throughout the day.

Claims

Naturally soothing and rich in nutrients, this tonic helps to tone, balance pH, minimise redness and calm skin. Rehydrates, replenishes and refreshes.
- Rose Hydrosol based toner that hydrates and neutralises skin
- Normalise hydration and gently removes any impurities
- For all skin types

Rose Flower Extract - Calms & minimises redness
Elderflower - Softens, tones & brightens
Chamomile - Soothes skin

I'm really enjoying using this toner as part of my evening skincare routine, as it does make my skin feel soft and hydrated before I continue with the other steps in my skincare routine. Also, with it being a rose toner it makes the experience of applying a toner more enjoyable due to the mild rose fragrance.

Review: Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream

Hi everyone,

I have using the Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream for the past few months as part of my morning skincare routine.

The Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream is a lovely moisturiser to use both in the daytime, as well as in the evening as I have found this to really give my skin the boost of hydration it needs especially during the colder months of the year. It has a thick consistency, but not so thick that you can spread it across your face evenly; and it also sinks into the skin straight away and keeps it feeling hydrated all day long.

Claims

This ultra rich cream is infused with ceramides and rose oil to deeply hydrate the skin for a healthier, more supple appearance and feel. Antioxidant rich botanicals help to improve skin's elasticity while protecting it against environmental aggressors.

- Rich, luxurious formula delivers deep, long lasting nourishment. Powerful antioxidants help to fortify the skin and protect against free radicals. Quickly absorbs, improving skin's elasticity and feel.

Rose Flower Oil - Nourishes & restores
Ceramides - Provide time released moisture
Probiotics - Protect & balance

Overall I have been really impressed by this moisturiser, and it leaves my skin feeling both hydrated and nourished throughout the day, and that is without reapplying throughout the day. It does state on the packaging that you can reapply this moisturiser throughout the day if your skin needs that extra boost hydration.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has really dry skin, and is looking for something to give their skin the hydration that it needs. But this moisturiser also works well for oily/ combination skin that my also need a boost of hydration. It absorbs into the skin straight away, and it doesn't leave it feeling sticky.

A Small Beauty Haul

Hi everyone,

I've recently done a little beauty shopping, and I thought that I would share with you what I have purchased.

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate
I have been using the Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate for around two years as part of my morning skincare routine. I'm nearly out of my current bottle, so I decided that I had best buy a back up just so then it's ready to go for when I do run out. It's makes my skin feel nourished and leaves my skin looking a little more radiant.

Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil
I adore this facial oil from Dr Botanicals, and I love using it as part of my evening skincare routine. It has a very light consistency that sinks into the skin straight away, and my skin just loves this product.

Calvin Klein Eternity Air for Woman EDP 100ml
This is lovely fragrance from Calvin Klein, as it's a light fruity scent, but it also has a freshness to it. It's a really enjoyable fragrance to wear, especially during the warmer months of the year.

Benefit Cheekleaders Palette in 'Mini Pink Squad'
I've had my eye on this palette since it came out just before Christmas, as I love the shade selection as well as the compact size of the palette. I don't usually buy face palettes, but this one is lovely from Benefit as it features mini sizes of their best selling blushes, and also a highlighter shade. The blushes are Galifonia and Dandelion, and the new highlighter shade is called 'Tickle'. I actually got recommend the Dandelion blush from Benefit way back when I was in my early to mid teens, but I never picked it up until now.

Review: Andalou Naturals Meyer Lemon + C Creamy Cleanser

Hi everyone,

I have recently just introduced the Andalou Naturals Meyer Lemon + C Creamy Cleanser into my morning skincare routine.

Claims

- Fruit stem cell complex Vitamin C and Manuka Honey, rich in enzymes and antioxidants, gently diffuse into a velvety lather of creamy emollients to sweep away impurities and dull, dry surface cells for uplifted tone, smooth texture and a luminous complexion.
- Vitamin C, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, supports skin vitality by targeting sun damaged, dull, dry and over exposed surface cells for a lighter, tighter, brighter appearance.

Brighting Solutions for :-
- Normal/ Combination skin
- Dry patches and T-zone shine
- Sun damage
- Hyperpigmentation

This is a lovely lightweight, cleansing gel that has a mild citrus scent to it. I've only come across a slight problem, and that is that I can't get to lather once I have added water too it. I think this could be due to it being a more natural product. It still cleanses my skin, and it does leave it feeling soft once it has been removed with a warm flannel. I've also noticed that I only need to use one pump of this to get the job done, due to its lightweight consistency.

If you are looking for a more natural cleanser then this could be for you, but I can't get mine to lather up.

Review: Rituals 'The Ritual of Nameste' Cleansing Oil

Hi everyone,

I have been using the Rituals 'The Ritual of Nameste' Cleansing Oil for a few months as part of my evening skincare routine.

Claims

This luxurious oil dissolves impurities in a single step without disrupting the skin's natural moisture balance, transforming into a soft, milky lotion when it comes into contact with water. Leaves skin feeling hydrated, soft and supple.

Holy Lotus - Holy Lotus is a symbol of purity, beauty and wisdom, and it is known for its soothing and caring properties.

Organic Avocado - Organic Avocado is known for its calming and caring properties.

This is a gorgeous, lightweight cleansing oil, which has a lovely relaxing scent to it. Once water has been added to it; it transforms in a lovely milky consistency, which will then remove any dirt or debris that has built up throughout the day with ease. I then just take a warm a flannel to remove the cleanser.

I use this as my first cleanse of my evening skincare routine, before I go in with my cleansing gel. It's such as joy to use on a nightly basis, due to its natural calming scent. It's also a purse friendly cleansing oil, as I think it retails for around £15.

NB) Sorry about the photography in this post. Something went wrong after it had been uploaded. I tried to rectify it to the best of ability. Please bare with me on this, as I am working on it. Thank you

2019 Overview

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share with you my highlights from 2019

Becoming an Auntie, Not Once But Twice

I became an auntie again both at the beginning and at the end of 2019. I already had a little niece, and now I have two little nephews.

Seeing the 'Rocky Horror Show' Twice in January
I have been wanting to watch the 'Rocky Horror Show' on stage since I saw it on Sky Arts back in 2015. I was originally only supposed to have going the once, but I enjoyed it that much that I went back for a second time, while it was still playing in Manchester for its third and final week. I don't think we have asked for a better cast. Ben Adams and Joanne Clifton made the perfect Brad and Janet, Stephen Webb as Frank n Furter was outstanding, and Kristen Lavercombe's Riff Raff just keeps getting better every time.

Going Seeing 'Breaking the Rules' For a Third Time

This has been another show that I have been wanting to get back too, as I haven't seen it since it's original tour back in 2016. This show just keeps getting better, and its improved loads during the last few years as it seems more natural and free flowing. It's a lovely show, and I'm hoping to go and see it again in the future.

Birthday in Chichester

I went to Chichester for a few days to celebrate my birthday, and I went to watch Terence Rattigan's 'The Deep Blue Sea' at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester Festival Theatre. It was a lovely few days in Chichester, and the locals couldn't do enough to help me. They also have a little market on Wednesday, which was nice and I also didn't know anything about this market until I stumbled across it while working through the town centre. The theatre production was beautifully put together, and the cast was on top form. 'The Deep Blue Sea' really suited the Minerva Theatre due to its more personable layout.

Seeing a1 For the First Time

I have waited the best part of 20 years to watch a1 perform live. What a fabulous evening that was, as I went to the concert on my own and came out with a few new friends. We were treated to the classic a1 hits from the late 90s and early 2000s, as well as some new material that has yet to be released. I think that has got to be the only concert were I felt it the following morning (after three hours sleep), and it was worth it and I would happily do it all over again.

No Longer a Beginner Flute Learner

I never thought in a million years that I would saying that I'm no longer a beginner flute learner, and I'm really looking forward to what the next few years bring. I'm having at least year off from doing my grades, as the syllabus for woodwind instruments is due to be updated in 2021. So, we going to be focusing on my development as well as working on kinks that need working out.

My First Blog Collab
During the Summer I did a post related to Discontinued Jo Malone products. To do this post I worked alongside another Jo Malone fanatic called Michael James, who managed to source the information that I needed to do these two blog posts. It was a lot of fun going through products that Jo Malone no longer sells, especially the range of the skin care that I remember fondly.

Erin Condren Address Book Haul

Hi everyone,

I've recently done another Erin Condren order, as I really fancied trying one of their address books as mine was in need of a bit of an update as I had them for years. Also, when I placing the order decided to stock up on a few bits.

Kaleidoscope Address Book

I chose to have the Kaleidoscope cover on my address book, as its one design from Erin Condren that I have really, really like. I love how colourful this design is. Also, with the address book from Erin Condren every letter has its own section; and the more popular the letter the more pages the address book has. It also has an area at the front were you put any special dates, and at the back there's a small section of lined paper as well as a page for any important contact numbers.

Kaleidoscope Pen

I love this pen from Erin Condren, and again its in the Kaleidoscope design. So, I have decided to purchase another one so then I keep one on my bedside table and the other one in my handbag.

Kaleidoscope Interchangeable Cover

I wanted a slightly different cover for my deluxe monthly planner, as the one that I currently have it just says my name. So, I decided that I wanted a cover to say what the planner would actually be used for once 2020 arrives. I wanted to keep it in the colourful Kaleidoscope design, just with a slightly different personalisation.

Kaleidoscope & Printed Petals Sticker Sheets

I have always liked the Printed Petals design from Erin Condren, so I decided to get a sticker sheet of that design. I've already used part of my first Kaleidoscope sticker sheet that I purchased when I was placing my first ever Erin Condren order, and I really liked the way the page turned out, so I wanted another sticker sheet just so then I can have as a back up. I also love how flexible these sticker sheets are, as you can use them for more than one purpose.

Overall I'm really happy with this order from Erin Condren, and the quality of the products  is still amazing. The paper quality is also top notch and really smooth to write on.
