Review: Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser

Hi everyone,

I have recently been using the Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser, as part of evening skincare routine; and I would like to share my thoughts with you.

This has got to be one of the most hydrating moisturisers I've ever used.

The Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser is a lovely gel/ cream moisturiser that sinks into the skin straight away, and it gives the skin a drink for a full 24 hours.

Claims
- Has micro-molecules to allow quicker and more efficient moisturisation
- Gives an immediate moisture boost and plumps up the skins resistance to fine, dry lines
- Light, comfortable cream/ gel plumps the skin with hydration for a full 24 hours
- Instantly refreshes skin
- Leaves it feeling smoother and softer
- Calms skin
- Comfortable and versatile
- Lightweight
- Absorbs quickly
- Helps to protect against environmental irritants

I have fallen in love with this moisturiser, because since I have been using it I have received a number of compliments on how my skin looks. As it looks brighter, plumped and a lot more hydrated.

This has definatly become my moisturiser of choice to form part of my evening skincare routine, and I have already brought a back up.

'Project Use it Up' 2016 Empties

Hi everyone,

The empties for my 'Project Use it Up' 2016 are here as promised. I'm going to do this one slightly different, which is put the put the prices that I actually paid for the product.

Body Shop Shower Gels (combined price £16)

I love the shower gels from the Body Shop, and when doing this project I found three new favourite scents, which are Vineyard Peach, Honeymania and Wild Argan Oil. Sadly both Vineyard Peach and Honeymania have been discontinued, but you can still get them when the Body Shop has a sale on, which I think happens around twice a year. Wild Argan Oil is avaiable all year round.

Jo Malone Orange Blossom Shower Gel £36 & Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne 30ml £42

I have been a fan of Jo Malone products for many years, but I decided that the time had come to get these used up and out of my collection. The Orange Blossom shower gel is just your everyday shower gel with a lovely scent. It took me nine months to get through this shower gel, and I think that was mainly due to pump being tempermental. The Wild Bluebell cologne I loved this when it was originally released, but in the end I had enough mainly because it a sweet floral scent. For the moment I don't want back in my collection, but I may buy it again the future.

B&BW Travel Size Fragrance Mists £5 each

I really enjoyed using these fragrance mists from Bath & Body Works. My favourite of the two scents was the 'Sweet Pea' fragrance as its a lovely light floral fragrance. 'Beautiful Day' I think in honesty I'm actually over the scent. But I will definatly invest in some more Bath & Body Works travel size fragrance mists in the future.

Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner £7 & REN Clarimatte Toner £13

I wasn't overally keen on the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner from the Body Shop. I used it up, but I won't be buying it again as I did nothing for my skin. The REN Clarimatte Toner I absolutely love, and I'm already on my second bottle. I use this as my toning step on a Sunday, and it works wonders. The scent is also nice on the Clarimatte Toner.

Elemis Hydra Boost Moisturiser £7, Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair £50 & Ole Henrikson £15

The Elemis Hydra Boost moisturiser is a lovely lightweight and hydrating moisturiser. I used this in the evening and my skin felt lovely the following morning. I know this is only a deluxe sample, but it lasted me a good few months. The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair was the first serum that I ever introduced into my skincare routine, and it is good stuff. I just don't my skin needs it at the moment, as I have found other serums and oils which work better for my skin. The Ole Henrikson 3 in 1 Cleansing Gelee is a weird little cleanser, but it was one that I enjoyed using as part of my daytime skincare routine. It also had a lovely orange scent that I really enjoyed.

Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet £14, Origins 'A Perfect World' Moisturiser £35 & Glamglow Thirtymud Hydrating Treatment £45

I really didn't enjoy the Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet, as it was a little hard to use plus it also didn't hydrate my skin at all. What I had to do to get this to somewhat work was I had to take a small amount from the tub and then warm it up in my hands before applying it to my face. The Origins 'A Perfect World' moisturiser on the other hand I loved. Its a lightweight moisturiser thats very hydrating, and the scent is amazing. The Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment is lovely hydrating moisturiser thats ideal to use over night. Also, it has a gorgeous coconut scent. It was lovely to use for the most part, but just as I was due to finish the tub my skin had a bit of a reaction. So I'm a little unsure if I would buy it again.

Neal's Yard Witch Hazel Toner £11 & Alpha H Liquid Gold £33.50

I loved using the Alpha H Liquid Gold as a weekly glycolic treatment. It is intense, but it does work. It just takes a short while for your skin to adapt to the product. I would highly recommend this to anyone whose looking for a weekly chemical exfoliator, and I would repurchase it again. The Neal's Yard Witch Hazel Toner is just a very expensive bottle of witch hazel, so I won't be buying it again.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo £4, Body Shop Peppermint Foot Spray £5 & Jack Black Lip Balm £7.50

I really like using the Batiste Tropical dry shampoo, even though I don't need to use it that often. The scent of the Tropical dry is shampoo is along the lines of a fruity coconut. I've gone through many bottles of the Peppermint foot spray from the Body Shop over the years and I will continue to repurchase. The Jack Black Lip Balm is my very lip balm that I have ever used up, and I may purchase it again in the future.

Elemis Lime Blossom Cleanser £22.50 & Vichy Pure Thermale Cleansing Gel £12

The Elemis Lime Blossom Cleanser is extremely good value for money, as this bottle lasted me around ten months. Its also a lovely cream cleanser to use, as it isn't harsh on the skin even though it is a purifying cleanser. I have already repurchased a back up. I also loved using the Vichy Pure Thermale Cleansing Gel, as this is a very refreshing cleanser to use and I used this as part of my daytime skincare routine. I will be purchasing this again, as I miss it in my routine.

I also decluttered the Clarins Instant Light Brush On Perfector in 00, as I had it a very long time and it was just time to get it out of my collection.

Thoughts on my 2016 'Project Use it Up'

Hi everyone,

I would like to share my thoughts on my 2016 'Project Use it Up'.

Overall I think I've done fairly well regarding my 2016 'Project Use it Up', as I've managed to use up nearly everything, apart from four products and I've also decluttered one as it was getting old. Also, this time around I did also keep myself accountable by keeping a track of dates that I finished the product up completely.

- Elemis Lime Blossom Cleanser
- Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet
- Origins 'A Perfect World' Moisturiser

- Jack Black Lip Balm
- Two B&BW Travel Size Fragrance Mists
- One Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo

I originally wanted to use up 29 products, but in the end I could use up 24 products. So in all I've used around 95% of the products that I wanted to use up. I have used up a total of £391.50 of products, which I think is good going for my first proper attempt at 'Project Use it Up'. They will be a 'Project Use it Up' 2016 Empties post to follow soon, and I will be starting another 'Project Use it Up' in April.

NB) The Empties post for my 2016 'Project Use it Up' will be going up at 2pm GMT today

Fragrance Empties 2016

Hi everyone,

This is my first ever Fragrance Empties post, and its just a round up of all the fragrances that I have used up during 2016. I'm also thunking about this every year.

Lacoste Love of Pink 50ml

This is a lovely fragrance during to wear during Spring/ Summer, and it also has a lovely mild citrus scent.

Lacoste Touch of Pink 50ml

This is one fragrance that I have to sadly declutter, as its turned. I wore this all the time while I was at college, so it does remind me of my time there. I will repurchase this again in the future, but I need to use up some more fragrances before I do.

Romance by Ralph Lauren 50ml

This was my least favourite scent to use up during 2016. I used it up really for the sake of using it up, and I was happy once I had finally finished it.

Dior Addict 2 50ml

I loved wearing this, and I really enjoyed using it up. Sadly, this fragrance by Dior got discontinued a few years ago :(

Marc Jacobs Dot 50ml

The scent of this fragrance grew on me, but it did take a while for me to start enjoying it. I'm unsure if I would actually repurchase this again.

Angel by Theirry Mugler 25ml

This is my favourite Autumn/ Winter fragrance, as its so cosy and warm. This is one of the non-refillable bottles. But I've already repurchased, but this time its in a refillable bottle.

Thats the round up of my 2016 fragrance empties, and it was a little bit of a mixed bag. But, I'm hoping to do this again for this years empties.

Beauty Haul - February 2017

Hi everyone,

Welcome to my first beauty haul of 2017. There's a few new products, and a couple of repurchases.

Elemis Hydrating Rosepetal Cleanser
I've decided that I want to have a more hydrating products as part of my morning skincare routine. I've never used the hydrating line from Elemis, but I'm looking forward to having it form part of my morning skincare routine.

Elegies Rehydrating Ginseng Toner
This is toner to match the rosepetal hydrating cleanser, which again form part of my morning skincare routine.

Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Serum
I've been wanting to add an antioxident serum into my evening skincare routine for a while, so I decided to pick the Caudalie Polyphenol C15 serum as it seemed the most concentrated. It's also a reasonable price point for an antioxidant serum, which is great if your looking for something that works while being on a budget. This is working great as part of my night time skincare routine.

Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser
I love having this as part of my evening skincare routine, and in all honesty I haven't been using it that long. So I decided that I would buy a back up as I've got a funny feeling that I'm going to go through this fairly quickly.

Clinique 'All About Eyes' Eye Cream
I've finally found an eye cream that doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes, and its also extremely hydrating. I've only purchased a back up of the 'All About Eyes' in the original formula, but during the colder months I'm considering purchasing the rich formula of this eye cream as its just a little bit more hydrating.

Omorovicza 'Queen of Hungry' Mist
I've decided to treat myself to the Omorovicza 'Queen of Hungry' mist. I want to add this as part of my evening skincare routine as my toner, once my current one has ran out. The scent of the 'Queen of Hungry' mist is very spa-like, and I'm really looking forward to using this.

Review: Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation Moisturiser

Hi everyone,

I have been using the Ole Henrikson Sheer Transformation Moisturiser for the past few months, and I'm really liking it. I have been using the Sheer Transformation moisuriser as part of my morning skincare routine.

Claims
- Lightweight & sheer texture
- Luxurious oil free cream feels light & silky as it penetrates the skin
- Helps to fade discolouration such as freckles, age spots & sun damage without the use of chemicals
- Nourishes & retexturises the skin, smoothes facial lines & provides intense free radical protection to prevent further damage

Ingredients
Actiwhite - Provents & corrects discolouration & evens out the skin tone with an effective combination of pea extract & sugar
Vitamin C - Stimulates collagen production
Fruit Acids - Retexturises & smoothes lines
Sandalwood, Geranium, Liquorice & Camomile Extract - Smoothes, replenishes, balances & purifies the skin
Vitamin E - Heals, restores & nourishes the skin

This is a lovely lightweight daytime moisturiser that sinks into the skin straight away. Its also an intense hydrating moisturiser, which might work well if you have dry/ dehydrated skin. I have combination skin & works great for me. But, what I have noticed with this moisturiser is that I can sometimes take too much of the product & overdo it without knowing it at the time. So just be aware that you do only need a small amount of this moisturiser because it does go a long way.
