No Post This Week & Blog Update

Hi everyone,

I'm very sorry but they will be no blog post this week, due to it being the New Year. But, I will be resuming my posts as normal on the first Tuesday in January 2015.

Also, they will be some slight changes to my blog this year.

These changes are :-

- I'm doing a make up 'No Buy' for the first three months off this year. So this will run between January through to March. I'm also going to be doing a second make up 'No Buy' from July through to September.

-The second change is that I am doing 'Project Use It Up', as I have quite a bit of body care to get through; as well as some skin care.

I will still posting every Tuesday as usual, but they may be more 'Product Empties', and also 'Product Reviews'. The one thing that I am allowing myself to do is place orders with Sephora, and getting stuff from Bath & Body Works, as these aren't easily accessed over here in the UK.

I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year & a wonderful 2015

Thanks again

Lauren

Stationary Haul

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share with some stationary that I've recently bought. I got all this as I'm doing something involving Music Theory.

The first item I picked up was a notebook, and I really like this one as it has dividers and different size plastic wallets. The notebook itself has five sections, which is ideal for Grades 1 -5 of Music Theory.

I got the drawing pad, as I thought it would be ideal for me to do covers for each section; along with diagrams and memory maps.

I got some good-old Crayola colouring pencils and Super Tips, as I thought that these would be great to do my diagrams, memory maps etc.

I got two different sizes of record cards, as these are ideal for making flash cards for different aspects of Music Theory.

I bought a black gel pen, as these are ideal for doing musical notes. I also got a tiny UHU glue stick, as I didn't have one; as well as few highlighters as I thought it would useful for when I'm doing my diagrams or highlighting in my notebook. I haven't quite decided what I'm doing with the highlighters.

I hope this stationary haul as given you a few ideas on how to help you study a little better. I know this is for Music Theory, but these ideas could be used across a board of subjects.

Cola Cola Christmas Truck Experience

Hi everyone,

On the 30th November I went to see the Cola Cola Christmas truck at the Trafford Centre, along with my sister and best friend Abbie.

It was fantastic, as we had a choir singing Christmas songs; as well as people from the Cola Cola Company giving out cans of Cola and Diet Cola. We also had official photographs taken with the Christmas Cola Truck.

It was a great day out for all who attended, and a fantastic way to start the festive season.

Here's a few photos that were taken on the day.

Treating a Mild Acne Breakout

Hi everyone,

I want to talk about mild acne and try to recommend some products that might be ideal for treating your acne breakout. These might not work for you, as I am going off my own personal experience. But you could also use this as a guide to help you, and find something similar thats both within your budget and that may work for you.

A Cleanser That is Suitable for Sensitive Skin
This might be worth investing in, as I've noticed with my skin that your skin can sometimes be a little sensitive when you have acne. Any cleanser will do, just as long as its suitable for sensitive skin; and all this will do is gently cleanse away any build up on the skin, without being harsh. I don't use this all the time; just when my skin is feeling a little sensitive, and I don't fancy using my usual cleanser.

Purifying Cleanser
A purifying cleanser is also a good thing to have in your beauty regime. But, what I usually do this one is give my skin a deep clean once a week using this, as it get rid of any build up from the skin, as well as giving your pores a really good clear out. Any purifying cleanser will do, just make sure that its a gentle purifying cleanser as you don't want to be harsh on the skin.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash
At the moment I'm using this around every second or third night, just to get rid of any oils that are lying on the skin. This is stuff is brilliant, as gives your face and pores a very deep clean, but without stripping the skin of its natural oils. Your face will feel fresh as a daisy after using this. It as the added benefits of both tea tree oil and salicylic acid, so it will also help in treating your acne.

Witch Hazel Toner
Witch Hazel is a natural ingredient, but in toner form you have to use it sparingly due to it being a astringent. But this is a gentle astringent, but its recommended that you use this no more than three time a week at the most. You can pick a Witch Hazel toner from any pharmacist.

Freederm 4% Gel
This is ideal for putting on the acne, but it is only suitable for people who have mild acne. This forms a layer over the spot/ area of acne itself, and then it treats it. I would only recommend that you start off using this every other night, as some people can be sensitive to using this at first. Just make sure that you do your whole facial routine before applying this, as it has to be applied to clean skin.

Tea Tree Oil
You can also use pure tea tree oil to treat acne, as this slowly dries the spot out. Even though it is a natural product, it can sometimes have a mild stinging sensation once its been applied, but this should only last a few seconds. Best way I have found to apply this is to place a few drops inside the lid, and then take a cotton swab and place it inside the lid with the tea tree oil, and then just apply to skin. Use a fresh a cotton swab every time, as its more hygienic.

I hope you have found this little guide useful.

Boots Haul

Hi everyone,

I did a bit a shopping in Boots, as I needed to stock up on a couple of things; and theres also a few things in this that I have never tried before.

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo
I'm currently loving this dry shampoo at the moment, and I'm nearly half way through my first bottle. The scent is a mixture of fruit and coconut, which is lovely. Also, this leaves no white residue in my hair when I use this.

Sure Maximum Protection Deodorant in Confidence
I've been using this for the past two months or so, and I really like it. This deodorant has a floral scent to it, which smells gorgeous. The only thing is with this deodorant is that you have to apply it before you go to bed; so then you can give it time to work. I'm currently on my second one these, and this is a back up.

Freederm 4% Gel
I got a small tube of the Freederm 4% gel, as my skin is currently going through a mild breakout of acne. I'm really happy that I picked this up, as it doing a fairly good job at treating my acne breakout. This is is only suitable for people who have mild/ moderate acne.

Embyolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate
This was a nice surprise to see inside Boots, as I wasn't expecting it. I've been trying to find the 30ml version of this for months, as I've been wanting to try it for ages. I got this to use as my moistuiser before I prime my face. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping to within the coming weeks.

Burt's Bees Coconut & Pear Hydrating Lip Balm
I got this to go inside my everyday handbag, and its lovely. The scent is heavenly, and the lip balm does an excellent job at hydrating the lips. I really need to pick up a few more of these, as this is one is brilliant.

Eylure Volume 070 Pre - Glued False Eyelashes
I chose these false eyelashes as they didn't seem over-dramatic, also I've never tried false eyelashes before; so thats another reason I opted for the pre-glued variety. I've brought these because I have a got a couple of parties coming up after the Christmas period.

A close up of the Eylure 070 Volume False Eyelashes
Duo False Eyelash Glue (Clear)
I decided to pick up the clear Duo false eyelash glue, as I've nothing but great things about this glue. This is for when I want to use standard false eyelashes, and I don't want to use the glue that comes included with them.
