My Lip Care Saviours

Hi everyone,

During the month of February my lips went extremely dry and very sore. Because of this I was trying every lip product than would help to get my lips back to their natural state. It did take a while, but I've finally found what works best for me and it might also work for you.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
This is a brilliant product for getting rid of all the dry/ chapped skin from your lips. I like to use this before I apply my lip balm, as it actually makes the lip balm work a lot better.

Nuxe Riev de Miel Lip Balm
I use this at night as an intensive lip balm, and this is what stopped my lips from becoming extremely chapped and sore. This is a fantastic product to have; especially if your prone to dry/ chapped lips. Just make sure that you give you give them a good scrub before hand, as this will aid the lip balm in helping to get your lips back to normal.

The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Butter
This is what I like to use during the day to help my dry/ chapped lips; as its very light in texture, as well as being moisturising. Also, the scent of this is amazing, as it smells like a strawberry milkshake.

Review: Aesop Camomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque

Hi everyone,

I've only been using this face mask for just over a month, and I'm really happy that I purchased it, as its been doing wonders for my skin.

This is a lovely and gentle deep cleansing clay based mask, and I use it once a week.

The Camomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish mask is packed full of purifying natural ingredients and oils. The clay itself is Kaolin clay, and this doesn't strip the skin of any of its natural oils, but it does give the skin a little extra added moisture.
The oils that the mask contains are Evening Primrose oil, Rosemary leaf oil, tea tree oil and sage oil.

The aim of the mask is to help to remove any impurities that have built up in the skin, as well as getting rid of any excess oil, and to aid to calm down any problem areas such as mild spots, acne or redness.

It's recommended that you apply a thin layer and leave on for 15 minutes, and then rinse off using warm water. It's also recommended that the mask should be done twice a week.

It's also worth mentioning that this is an astringent face mask, so it may not be suitable for everyone, especially for people who have sensitive skin.

For myself personally I do the mask once a week, and this seems to be working well for my skin at the moment. I also just apply the mask to my T-zone, and any additional problem areas that my skin may have at the time.

Product Empties - November 2015

Hi everyone,

It's another 'Product Empties' Post, and it doesn't seem that long ago since I last did one. There is a couple of product fails again in this post, and I'll explain why as I go along.

Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps in Beautiful Day & Georgia Peach
As you know I absolutely love these, and I go through one every six weeks or so. Beautiful Day is a lovely apple scent, but with a hint of musk; and Georgia Peach is a lovely ripe juicy peach scent. Sadly, Georgia Peach was only a limited edition scent for Spring/ Summer this year.

Bath & Body Works Pocketbac in Golden Apricot
I also love the pocketbacs from Bath & Body Works, mainly due to range of scents that they have on offer. I go through one of these around three to four months, and I have them in every handbag. Golden Apricot was a limited edition scent from last Autumn, and I loved the juiciness of it.

Wella Enrich Shampoo & Conditoner
I picked these up as a duo in TK Maxx, as I fancied trying something a little different at the time as my hair was going through a dry phase, which is very unusual. I think these usually retail between £15-£20 each. I did't get any volume from the shampoo, and the conditioner was very lightweight, and I had to use quite a bit. So I won't be buying these again.

Champney's Pure Touch Nourishing Hand Wash
This was a quite moisturising hand wash, and it had a very subtle fresh scent. It left my hands feeling sof. I would repurchase this again in the future.

Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Moisturiser
This is definatly a product fail in more ways than one for me. I hated the packaging as it was very difficult to get the moisturiser out, and I had to store it upside down, as well knocking the product down the pump by swinging it. There's still product left in there, but I just couldn't get the last of it out. The formula is a lightweight cream, which sunk into the skin straight away. But it just didn't do anything for my skin at all. I think this retails for around £50, and for that I would at least expect to do something, and for the packaging to be functional; so then you can get every last drop of the product out. I used it up, but I won't be repurchasing it again, as I've found better moisturisers.

Dove Go Fresh Deodorant in Grapefruit & Lemongrass
This is one of my favourite scents that Dove has to offer, and I will continue to repurchase.

Lancome Hydra Zen Nuit Neurocalm Night Cream
This was an okay night cream, which smelt of roses. It was a lightish formula that sunk into the skin easily. But I don't think I'll be buying the full size, but it was nice to sample.

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Body Creme
This was lovely, as it has light texture but it did take a while to rub into the skin. The scent of this is amazing, and I ended smelling like a sweet bakery product.

Glamglow Tinglefoliate Treatment Mask
When I first started using this I loved it, but now I'm finding that its a little harsh on my skin. I've got one more of these tiny pots to use, and then after that I won't be repuchasing it again, as I've found something that I like a lot more.

Body Shop Glazed Apple Hand Cream
I never wanted this hand cream to end, mainly because the scent was amazing. The fragrance reminded me of sweet juicy apples with an undertone of honey. The hand cream was light formula, but its the scent I brought it for. Sadly, it was limited edition last Christmas.

Review: Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Hi everyone,

I've been using the Pai Rosehip Oil in my nightly skincare routine for the past few months, and I think its slowly beginning to take effect. So I thought that I would review for you.

The Pai Rosehip Oil has a thick consistency, so you only need to apply one to two small drops at the most. Before I apply it to my face I first warm the product up, as this helps the oil to spread more easily and evenly.

Also, Rosehip Oil is the ideal multi-tasker for all skin types, and it aids the skin by giving it a little extra TLC. If used on a regular basis it will make your complexion look brighter and clearer.
Rosehip Oil is also well known for its skin strengthening properties, and this is due to the high concentrations of Pro-Vitamin A, Carotenoids and omegas; and all these benefical ingrediants will help to restore the appearance of damaged skin.

Aims of the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

- Refines appearance of damaged skin & fine lines
- Improves skintone, texture & elesticity
- Clears persistent blemishes
- The unique Rosehip fruit & seed blend contains five times more carotenoids, & double the revitalising sterols of regular rosehip oil
- Premium CO2 extraction delivers the complete & concentrated properties of the Rosehip  plant

Overall, I'm really impressed with the Pai Rosehip Oil. Especially because in such a short space of time it seems to be making a difference to the appearance of skin, as it defiantly seems to brighter and more plumped. With continued use I'm sure that my skin's overall condition will continue to improve and get even better overtime.

Boots Haul - October 2015

Hi everyone,

I decided to go to Boots and do a bit of shopping to spend my birthday money, and this is what I chose to buy with my birthday money.

Emporio Armani Diamond Rose EDT 100ml

This wasn't the fragrance that I was originally going to get, but out of every fragrance I sampled I just keep on going to back to this one. This is lovely to wear during the Spring/ Summer months, as its light fragrance. Even though this is an EDT it does have a scent throw too it.

Lee Stafford Double Blow Volumising Mousse
I decided to pick this up as I've been after a mousse since I got my hair cut, and I just needed something to add just a bit of volume at the roots. As my hair is natually quite flat at the roots, especially at the crown.

Soap & Glory Scrub your Nose In It AHA Facial Scrub
I picked this up to see if it would help around my nose, since it started to feel dry and tight again. So, I think I'm going to use as a nose mask, and see if it helps that way.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Nose Pore Strips

I thought I would give these a whirl since they is a lot of hype about nose strips at the moment. But, I didn't want to splash out and get the Biore nose strips; juse in case I didn't like them. Also, my nose is in need of a little extra TLC at the moment. So, I'm hoping that these will at least help it on its way to getting back to normal.

Boots Refreshing Cucumber Cleansing Wipes

I don't really use make up wipes to remove my make up anymore, as I now use cleansing oil. But, I thought these would come in handy for removing make up swatches and little clean ups.

L'Oreal Mega Gloss in Mafia (104)

I picked this up as I really liked the shade, and its very similar to my Buxom lip gloss in Hey Baby; but this is a little brighter. This is also in the cream formula.

L'Oreal Mega Gloss in For the Ladies (206)

This is in the dazzle formula, and it looks very similar to a well known NARS lipgloss shade. It also has bits of fine pink glitter running throught it.

L'Oreal False Lash Architect Waterproof Mascara

I really liked the shape of the brush for this mascara, as its really curved. In the past I haven't really got on with L'Oreal mascaras, but I'm willing to give this one a try.

Fragrance Review: Thierry Mugler Angel EDP

Hi everyone,

This is one of my favourite perfumes to wear during the Autumn/ Winter months, due to it having a strong scent throw.

I'm aware that the scent of Angel is an aquired taste, because you either love it or hate it, and I used to really dislike the scent of this when I was younger. But now that I'm older I can't get enough of it, especially in the colder months of the year, and it lasts all day on my skin.

Fragrance Notes
Top Notes: Bergamont, Helional
Heart Notes: Exotic fruits, Honey
Base Notes: Vanilla, Praline, Patchouli, Caramel

The scent of 'Angel' is even more gorgeous once the scent has died down a bit. It's also worth mentioning that when you first spray it you might come across a chocolate note, and that took me a while to get used to, as I'm not used to smelling chocolate in a fragrance.

Thierry Mugler's Angel is a delight to wear during the Autumn/ Winter months, as it makes you feel warm and cosy on the inside.

Products I Would Repurchase - Part Two

Hi everyone,

This is the second instalment of 'Products I Would Repurchase'. I'm going to do these posts when I feel that I have enough products that I would repurchase.

Alpha H Liquid Gold
This is the only chemical exfoliator I use, but I only use it every other week; as it can be quite harsh. I use this after toning my skin, as it works as an intensive overnight treatment.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (new formula)
This was one of the first serums that I ever used, and I love it. Not only does it get rid of redness, but it also helps to boost the skins moisture levels. The morning after using this my redness has more or less disappeared, and my skin is more radiant.

Moroccan Oil Light
I really enjoy using this at the ends of my hair, as it gives it a little added moisture, as well as making my hair feel silky smooth. It also has quite a nice scent.

Tony & Guy Firm Hold Hairspray
This is my go-to hairspray, and I've already worked my way through a travel sized can of this, as I didn't know at the time if I would like it. It also has a pleasant fragrance.

Trevor Sorbie Volume Leave-In Conditioner
This is a great leave-in conditioner if you would like to add some volume to the lengths of your hair. I like to use this after I have washed my hair, and once my hair has dried it leaves my hair feeling conditioned  with some added volume.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
This is what I really like to use if I want a 'no fuss' natural look. This palette also really suits my skin tone, as its a warm toned neutral palette. It's a simple palette to use, and all of the eyeshadows are matte, which makes it a great everyday palette.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
I really like to use the Expert Face brush to apply my foundation, as it has a flat top. Due to its flat top it makes blending out foundation really easy. I already have another two in my brush collection ready to go.

Angel Perfume
This is my favourite fragrance to wear during the Autumn/ Winter months, due to it being a strong scent. But, once the fragrance has been on the skin a while it really is lovely. When I first purchased this fragrance it did take me a while to get used to it, but now I can't get enough of it.

Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne
I enjoy wearing this fragrance throughout the year, as it isn't your generic rose scent. The fragrance itself actually has a sweetness to it, which comes from the middle note of acacia honey. Also, the fragrance is formulated with a variety of roses from around the world.
