Review: Aussie Pure Locks Shampoo

Hi everyone,

I have recently been trying the Pure Locks Shampoo from Aussie, as I really enjoy using a cleansing shampoo about once or twice a week when I wash my hair.

This is a lovely cleansing shampoo from Aussie, and its taken me by surprise how much I enjoy using this shampoo and I've never personally been one for using haircare from the Aussie brand. I think the reason could be in the fact I had my hair coloured the last time I tried any products, and I really didn't along with them. But now my hair is back in its natural state, and my hair seems to like this product a lot.

Claims
- Helps to destress hair from everyday occurrences such as pollution, heat and product build up
- A super light shampoo formula enriched with Kakadu Plum helps to purify locks that leaves hair feeling fresh, shiny & rejuvenated
- Formulated without any paragons, silicones or colourants

Kakadu Plum - This plum is native to Australia, and is a miracle fruit that is full of antioxidants

Overall I'm really impressed with this shampoo, as it really does get rid of any build up from the hair and scalp and it leaves hair feeling clean and slightly hydrated. I also find that this shampoo leaves my hair feeling a little lighter once it has dried, a similar feel to when I have just left the hairdressers.

Review: Caudalie Beauty Elixir

Hi everyone,

I have decided to review a product from Caudalie that I used to use when I first getting into skincare around seven or eight years ago. This was my first introduction into the Caudalie brand all those years ago.

The Caudalie Beauty Elixir can be used for a number of different purposes such as a setting spray, make up refresher or a facial spray that can be used to calm your nerves when your feeling a little stressed or anxious. It has a lovely calming fragrance of lavender and peppermint, which will help you to relax once it has been sprayed.

Claims
- A multi tasking face mist that sets make up, tones and tightens pores, and it also gives the skin an instant boost of radiance.
- The Beauty Elixir has a unique and invigorating formula that has been inspired by the Youth Elixir of the Queen of Hungary back in the 16th Century.
- Made of 100% natural origin ingredients, as well as powerful plant extracts. The complexion receives an instant radiance boost, while also tightening the pores, and smoothing fine lines and make up creases.
- The aromatic fragrance is both uplifting and calming for the mind and senses

Green Grape - Helps to boost radiance and adds moisture to the skin
Peppermint Essential Oil - Helps to tone and awaken the skin
Rose Essential Oil - Anti shine and helps to add glow to the complexion
Rosemary Essential Oil - Is both anti inflammatory and antibacterial
Myrrhe Oil - Helps to tone the skin

This is lovely facial spray to use whether it is just for a little pick-me-up, to help you relax or another thing I have used it for is before I go to bed to help me to sleep a little better. I also like that it contains essential oils within the formula to help aid the relaxation. It's a lovely facial spray with a fine mist.

Cult Products That I Love

Hi everyone,

I'm going to share with you some of my favourite cult beauty products that I'm still using or have used in the past.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
I decided to purchase the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette as I really like the combination of the warm neutral shades alongside a few pops of colour. For me personally, this out performs the original but now discontinued Naked palette from Urban Decay; as I can work with the eyeshadows in this palette a little better. I also prefer the prefer the shades in this palette compared to the Naked palette, as the shades seem to suit my skin tone a little better. I also have the Too Faced Chocolate Bons Bons palette, which is a cool neutral eyeshadow palette. The Chocolate Bar palette also smells like chocolate.

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks
These were my first introduction into liquid lipsticks a few years ago, and I really like the formula of these liquid lipsticks as they aren't too drying on the lips, as well as being fairly long lasting. Also, these liquid lipsticks have a lightweight formula and you can also reapply to lips easily without it looking cakey or cracked. I have the shades 'Queen B' and 'Sell Out'. 'Queen B' is a mauve shade, and the shade 'Sell Out' is a midtone brown neutral even though as if its going to be a pink neutral shade.

MAC Lipsticks
I love the lipsticks from MAC, as they offer a range of shades and different finishes and textures. These are just a good staple to have in any make up collection.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
I've started to get back into enjoying the Beauty Elixir from Caudalie, as I find it really relaxing to use especially if I'm feeling a little stressed or in need of a pick me up. It has a lovely scent of lavender and eucalyptus. Just don't overdo it, especially if you have dry skin, as I've found that if you overdo just a little bit then it will dry your skin out. But it is a really lovely product to use if you are looking for something to relax you a little bit.

Percy & Reed Volumising No Oil Oil
This is a fabulous product use, especially if you have fine hair like myself. It's a lightweight oil that adds quite a bit of volume to the hair once applied. The best way I have found to use this oil is after I have washed my hair, and after it has been towel dried. I find one to two pumps on towel dried hair works wonders for adding volume.

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
This has become my favourite eye cream to use as part of my evening skincare routine, as it has adds a lovely bit of hydration to the under eye area that I can feel the following morning when I wake up.

Alpha H Liquid Gold
This was the product that introduced the use of glycolic acid into my skincare routine. I've gone through around four bottles of this over the years, and this is a brilliant chemical exfoliator. I only use glycolic acid in my skincare routine once or twice a week at the most, as that is all that my skin needs.

Lancome Energie de Vie Overnight Mask
This is a lovely overnight mask from Lancome, and it's also what got me into using overnight masks as part of my evening skincare routine. I actually prefer using an overnight mask to a regular night time moisturiser, as I find that it hydrates my skin a bit more and I can also tell the difference in my skin when I wake up the following morning.

Clinique 'Take the Day Off' Cleansing Balm & Cleansing Oil
I really enjoy using both the Clinique 'Take the Day Off' cleansing balm and cleansing oil as the first step of my evening skincare routine, as I find that they work effectively as a first cleanse of my double cleansing evening routine. The cleansing oil goes a very long way, as I find that I only need to use a pump to get the job done, and with the cleansing balm I only need a small amount to warm up in between my hands to also become effective. I also like how much you get for money, as I can get around 6 - 8 months out of each cleanser.

MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator
This is a brilliant exfoliator for anyone who has oily/ combination skin like myself, as its really effective at removing the dead skin cells without stripping the skin. It's also quite a gritty exfoliator, so it gets the job done really easily.

Review: Rituals 'The Ritual of Nameste' First Essence

Hi everyone,

I have been wanting to add an essence into my skincare routine for quite a while, but they all seemed to be on high side of the price spectrum. So, when I noticed that Rituals offered an essence at a more affordable price I decided that I would give it a whirl and add into my evening skincare routine.

Claims

First essence prepares the skin to absorb your next treatments such as serum and moisturiser; while also helping to restore natural moisture balance. The formula is absorbed quickly into the skin and leaves it feeling replenished, soft and ready for the next stages of your skincare routine.

Saffron Flower - known as the 'red gold of the East', contains antioxidants and anti wrinkle properties

Holy Lotus - is a symbol of purity, beauty and wisdom, and is known for its soothing and caring properties

Apply twice daily onto a clean face before you apply your serums, oils and moisturiser. Warm a few drops in your hands and gently press over your face and neck.

It took around a week for my skin to get used to the essence, as it is a more concentrated form of skincare. The essence has a lovely, lightweight feel and it sinks into the skin straight away. It also has a luxurious scent, which adds to the skincare experience.

I'm really happy that I have decided to include an essence into my evening skincare routine. My complexion does have a more natural glow too it, but that could be due to the combination of this essence and the Vitamin C serum that I'm currently using.

Product Empties - October 2019

Hi everyone,

It's time for another 'Products I've Used Up'.

Kedma Kiwi Body Scrub & Body Butter
I purchased the Kedma kiwi body scrub and body butter around 18 months ago. I've used one of their body scrubs in the past, but in the peach scent. The body scrubs last around a year, and the body butter maybe a bit longer. The body butter took a while to sink into the skin, and the body scrub I really enjoyed using. I've got another body scrub to use, but this time in the lemon fragrance.

L'Oreal Elvive Phytoclear Shampoo
I've gone through one these before, and I really enjoy using it as it does a really good at sorting out my oily roots. I would repurchase, but I'm currently trying something else out.

Herbal Essence White Tea & Mint Conditioner
This is just a really lightweight conditioner that did the job. I'm not too sure if I would repurchase.

Herbal Essences Coconut Milk Hydrating Shampoo
I started to use this shampoo when I used to colour my hair to give it a boost of hydration. Not too sure if I would repurchase, as it may have over hydrated my hair a little too much.

D.W Home Blue Hawaii Single Wick Candle
The scent throw on this candle was okay when it decided it would throw, but the Blue Hawaii scent is gorgeous, as its a light, sweet citrus scent. It actually reminded me of the Juicee orange, lemon and pineapple cordial I used to drink when I was younger.

Superdrug Shower Gels in Blueberry & Acai, Strawberry & Raspberry, and Watermelon & Pomegrante.
I really enjoyed the fragrances of each of these shower gels, and the formula of these shower gels foamed up to a creamy lather. My favourite of these scents was the watermelon and pomegranate.

Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil
This is one facial oil that I adore having in my skincare routine. It smells divine, and it sinks into the skin straight away. I'm currently on my third bottle, and I have a fourth ready and waiting.

Alpha H Liquid Gold
This is the second bottle of Alpha H liquid gold that I have used up, and its still one of my favourite glycolic acid treatments as it's really effective as a chemical exfoliator.

Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate
I love having this as part of my morning skincare routine. It's just a really lovely product that sinks into the skin straight away. I'm currently on my third bottle.

Kiehl's Cucumber Alcohol Free Toner
This is a lovely toner to use from Kiehl's and it isn't stripping to the skin, and I miss having it as part of my morning skincare routine. It took me around a year to finish this bottle, so a little really does go a long way.

Body Shop Seaweed Toner
I had this as part of my evening skincare routine, as I wanted something a little more purifying to the skin at the time. I think this is either my third or forth bottle that I have gone through, and I would repurchase if I didn't have a number of other toners to use up.
