Review: Neurogena Visibly Clear Spot Clearing Facial Wash

I thought I would review for you the cleanser that I'm currently using as part of my acne skincare routine.

I use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Clearing facial wash for around a week every month or so, or whenever my skin needs it. I can't use this as my everyday cleanser, as it would dry out my skin due to the salicylic acid.

The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Clearing facial wash is a lovely refreshing cleanser with a mild citrus fragrance. It also has a thick gel consistency, which foams up really well once water has been added too it. It is also a concentrated, oil free and gentle formula with the additional benefit of 2% salicylic acid; which is the main ance/ spot treatment in this cleanser. Once it has been rinsed off it leaves the skin feeling tighter and slightly more hydrated.

The aim of this cleanser is to effectively clear and prevent spots returning again in the future; and I think it does this really well. With myself personally it does take around five to seven days for this to happen, but when this does happen I don't need to use this cleanser until it flairs up again, and that can be anything up to two or three months.

This is an effective budget-friendly acne fighting cleanser that does work. So if your having a mild acne breakout then it might be worth trying this one out.

Products I've Used Up - August 2016

I've finished off quite a few products this month, some of which are new to me and a few repurchased items.

Dove Go Fresh Anti-Perspirant Deodorant in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena, & Graprefruit & Lemongrass
I love the Go Fresh deodorants from Dove, especially the fragrances. I do find that these do a really good at me dry throughout the day. I've recently stocked up on these, and I will continue to repurchase.

The Body Shop Body Sprays in Satsuma & Coconut
These I'm just decluttering as I've had them a good few years, but I hardly reached for them. The scents were nice, especially the satsuma fragrance. But I don't think I will be buying these again.

Bath & Body Works Deep Cleansing Hand Soaps in Eucalyptus Mint & Tahitian Holiday

I love the deep cleansing hand soaps that Bath & Body Works has to offer. But I wasn't overly fond of the Eucalyptus Mint scent, and the formula on the Tahitian Holiday hand wash was a little too thin and didn't quite scrub my hands as well as I would like. I have quite a few of these to get through, including a back up of Tahitian Holiday. But I don't think I would purchase either of these scents again.

Mandara Spa Tropical Bloom Hand Wash

This was a lovely inexpensive hand wash, with a delightful spa scent. The scent was jasmine and ylang ylang, and I would consider picking this up again if I was ever in a pinch.

Along Came Betty 'All in Good Hands' Peachy Keen Hand Wash

This was gifted to me last Christmas from a friend, and I loved the fresh peach scent. It also did a very good job at cleaning my hands.

Alberto Balsam Blends Clean & Fresh Shampoo & Conditioner in Green Tea & Citrus

These are a lovely shampoo and conditioner to use, epsecially if your loooking for a little bit more clarifying. Also the scent of these are more citrus than green tea. I would repurchase these again.

La Roche-Posey Serozinc

This is a zinc sulphate based toner which is ideal to use if you have a mild acne breakout. I noticed a slight difference in my skin while I was using this, but I'm unsure whether or not I would buy it again.

Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo

This is a lovely shampoo to use if your hair is in need of a little TLC, and its quite hydrating. I've brought this quite a few times over the years, and I will buy it again if I need something nourishing for my hair.

The Body Shop Honeymania Body Butter

I love the scent of the Honeymania range from the Body Shop, as its not just a straight up honey fragrance because it has a sweet floral note in it. This is a lovely thick, and hydrating body butter that sinks into the skin straight away. I would buy this again, but I have quite a few body butters and body lotions to get through.

Dove Maximum Protection 48 Hour Deodorant in Green Tea & Cucumber

This has become my new favourite maximum protection deodorant, mainly because of the green tea and cucumber scent. The Dove green tea and cucumber scent has a lovely sweetness too it that I actually prefer. If got a couple of backups of this waiting to be used, and I will continue to repurchase.

OSMO Deep Intensive Repair Mask

I got this to try from Sally's as I needed a new hair mask, and I'm happy that I only picked up the travel size to try. On some days it would work just fine, and on others it would be a bit too much for my hair. I won't be repurchasing this again in the future.

Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator

This had a lovely natural rose scent, but the exfolitor itself was a bit too gentle for my liking. But I did manage to get about two weeks worth of product out of this little sample size.

By Terry Huile de Rose Serum

I'm not too sure which serum this was, but I think its been discontinued anyway. I found that this did nothing for my skin over the three to four months that I was using this product.

Mini Skincare Haul

I've just got a little skincare haul for you, and a few of these items are repurchases because I actually notice a difference to my skin when I use them.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clarifying Lotion

I've been interested in trying the clarifying lotion from Clinique as I've heard nothing but good reviews about it. Its a salicylic acid based toner, which is good thing as my skin seems to respond well to salicylic acid to help clear my mild acne. It also has a powder at the bottom, which you need to shake to activate the product and this will help to mattify the skin.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel

I've heard nothing but good things about the clearing gel from Clinique. This comes in two sizes, but I decided to get the small size, which is 15ml. The clearing gel is also salicylic acid based. I've only used this once, but a little bit does go a long way. I'm looking forward to adding this addition into my acne routine to give it an extra boost.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil Free Toner

I thought this would be a nice toner to have as part of my daytime skincare routine mainly because its an oil free formula. The oil free formula is ideal for me as I have combination skin, so it should control the oils in my T-zone a bit more. 

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream

This seems like a lovely moisturiser to use during the day, as it has a thick consistency but its also has a lightweight formula, which means that it sinks into the skin straight away. This also comes in two sizes, and I've got the standard 50ml tub; but this also comes in a 125ml tub. Also, this moisturiser you can use during the day or at night.

M&S Formula Radiant Cleanse Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Milk

I don't usually buy M&S skincare, but I stumbled across this while browsing the beauty section and I fancied giving this a try. I went for the cleansing milk, as my skin seems to respond well to cleansing milk rather than foaming cleansers. Its also formulated with hyaluronic acid, which is great if your skin is in need of hydration. I'm looking forward to using this, and this used as part of my daytime skincare routine in due course, but I have a few cleansers to get through first.

M&S Formula Radiant Cleanse Hyaluronic Acid Thermal Exfoliating Polish

I originally picked this up to use a facial exfoliator, but I've found another use for it, and thats to exfoliate my hands when they get chapped during the colder months. But this did work wonders for my hands when I tried it.

REN Clarimatte Toner

This is a repurchase, and I wanted a back up ready for when I've used my witch hazel toner. I've nearly finished my first bottle of this, and I really enjoy having it as part of my Sunday facial routine. This does make my skin feel cleaner when I use it.

Avene Cleanance Expert Emulsion

I originally got this to add as part of my acne routine, and I think this product does actually work in getting rid of mild acne and keeping my skin clear. Also, a little bit goes a long way, but it is mildly fragranced, which I don't personally mind as its a pleasant scent.

Review: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub

I thought I would review for you the exfoliator that I'm currently using as part of my acne skincare routine, and I use before I go in with my cleanser.

The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub is a gorgeous, gentle and refreshing scrub, which has a lovely mild fresh mint fragrance.

The scrub itself is a creamy formula with microbes, and it has a slight lather too it once water has been added to help aid the exfoliation. But, it also soothes the skin at the same time, and this is due to the green tea and cucumber. Also, the scrub ius gentle enought for everyday use.

The aim of the scrub is to exfoliate away any dead skin cells and removing any oil or dirt that may be present on the skin. Also the scrub penetrates deep down into the skin to help unclog any pore, which will help to clear away any spots or mild acne.

Bath & Body Works Haul - Vegas Edition 2016

Hi everyone,

So, a very good friend of mine has recently been on holiday to Las Vegas, and I asked her kindly if she would pick some up from Bath & Body Works because she knows how much I love their products.

Travel Size Fragrance Mists
I really like the travel size fragrance mists from Bath & Body Works because these are ideal to keep in your handbag for when your on the go. I scents I have got are 'Tahiti Island Dream' and 'Paris Amour'.
Tahiti Island Dream - This is a lovely vanilla scent that has a fresh lemony undertone, which comes through as soon as you smell it.
The notes are:-
Top: Fresh coconut water, sparkling mandarin, golden pear, kiwi blossom
Middle: Jasmine petals, water lily, lush frangipani
Base: Tahitian vanilla musk, skin amber, Australian sandalwood
Paris Amour - This is a fresh fruity, floral scent, which is will be lovely to wear during the Spring & Summer.
The notes are:-
Top: Sparkling mandarin, petite strawberry, cassis, sparkling pink champagne, apple blossoms, dewy freesia
Middle: Lushious peach, jasmine petals, French tulips, water lily, frangipani
Base: French vanilla, coconut milk, amber wood, sandalwood, creamy musk 

Lavender & Camomile Pillow Mist

I've always wanted to try a pillow mist from Bath & Body Works, especially the lavender and vanilla, which my friend couldn't get hold of for me. So she picked up the lavender and camomile one for me instead. The lavender and camomile scent just smells like pure lavender, and its stronger scent of lavender than what I'm currently using.

Pocketbacs

I love the Pocketbacs, and I have gone through quite few of these over the past few years. You can never have too many of these, especially because of the wide variety of scents on offer. The pocketbacs that were picked up on my behalf are 'Beautiful Day', which is a lovely fresh apple scent, 'Pink Chiffon', which is a fruity, floral scent, and 'Honolulu Sun' and this is a coconut scent.

My friend also managed to get the 'Sweet Pea' scent, which is fast becoming one of my favourite scents from Bath & Body Works; because its a lovely fresh fruity, floral fragrance. I'm looking forward to using this one, just to see how it compares to the fragrance mist that I'm currently using.

Black Cherry Merlot Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

I've gone through two of these in the past, and my friend managed to pick up another two for me. This is one of my favourite scents from Bath & Body Works, as it reminds me of a Bakewell Tart, with a touch of musk. 

Sweet Pea Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

This I'm looking forward to because it smells identical to the fragrance mist, and I've never used the sweet pea deep cleansing hand soap before.

Peach Bellini Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

Every one man, and their dog rave about the Peach Bellini scent, and I can see why. Its a lovely peach fragrance with a mango undertone running through it. It actually smells good enough to eat, and I'm really looking forward to using this one.

Coconut Copacabana Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

I think this scent got released last year as part of the Spring/ Summer collection, and I never purchased it. This is just a lovely fresh smelling coconut scent, which is ideal to use during the warmer months.

Beautiful Day Deep Cleansing Hand Soap

This is just a repurchase, and I'm currently working my way through my second bottle of this that I got last year. Beautiful Day is a lovely fresh apple fragrance with a subtle musky undertone.

CVS Haul - Vegas Edition 2016

My friend has just recently been on holiday again to Las Vegas. But when she came back last year she mentioned to me that they have a few CVS Pharmacies. So, I asked her could she kindly pick up some things on my behalf, and its products which we can't get here in the UK.

Neurogena Oil Free Eye Make Up Remover

I've been wanting to try this as its really hyped up in the blogging/ YouTube beauty community. I haven't tried this yet, because I have a couple of eye make up removers on the go. But I am really looking forward to using this; mainly to see what all hype is about and to see if its any better than what I'm currently using.

Neutrogena Make Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes (21 wipes) x2

I've again been wanting to see what these are like, mainly because they are really hyped up in the beauty community. I'm really looking forward to using these, as we can't get these over here in the UK. 

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof Mascara

I was thrilled when I stumbled across this on the CVS website, because even though we can get the Voluminous mascara over in the UK. We can't get the Voluminous Carbon Black in the waterproof formula. I've been wanting to try this for quite a while, but because we can't the formula here in the UK its always put me off trying it. So I'm definatly looking forward using these once I have used up a few more mascaras.

L'Oreal Voluminous Superstar Waterproof Mascara

This is a mascara that we stock in the UK, but I'm not sure if we stock in the waterproof formula. I've never used a mascara that has a primer alongside it, so I'm excited to use this once I've used more mascaras.

Maybelline ColourSational Creamy Matte Lipstick in 'Lust for Blush'

I don't usually wear matte lipsticks, and this is mainly due to the dry formula. But I've heard a lot of good things about the Maybelline Creamy Lipsticks, so I wanted try one. We can get the Creamy Matte lipsticks here in the UK, but not shade 'Lust for Blush'. The shade 'Lust for Blush' is a cool toned dark mauve shade.

Maybelline ColourSational Rebel Bloom Lipstick in 'Hibiscus Pop'

This is a gorgeous cool toned pink shade, and this has a lovely light texture that feels lovely on the lips. This is a gorgeous shade, and will be lovely to wear during the warmer months. We can get the Rebel Bloom lipstick collection here in the UK, but sadly not this shade.

Mini Sephora Haul - Vegas Edition 2016

Hi everyone,

A very good friend of mine recently went back to Las Vegas, and I asked her to pick up a few things which we couldn't get over here in the UK. Its only a small haul because she struggled to get most of the stuff that was my list, but I'm still very thankful for the stuff that she did manage to bring back for me.

Buxom Full On Lip Creams

I managed to get one of these last year in the shade 'Pink Lady' just to see what the formula was like. These have a minty tingling sensation on the lips, which is lovely. So, I decided I wanted a couple of more, and I got the shades 'Berry Blast' and 'Lavender Cosmo'. 'Berry Blast' is a gorgeous dark fuchsia shade, while 'Lavender Cosmo' is a cool toned baby pink shade with a lavender undertone; which is something I don't actually have my make up collection.

Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana Purse Spray

I have just recently purchased this as a 75ml bottle, as ideal to wear during the summer months, and when I noticed on the Sephora website that they have this as a purse spray I couldn't not get it. Even though this is an EDP, its a very light EDP which could possibly disappear throughout the day. So by having a purse spray, it will make it ideal for me to top the scent up throughout the day if needed.

Georgio Armani Si Rollerball x2

This is one of my new favourite fragrances, and its lovely to wear either during the day or a night. It has a sophiscated warmth too it, and its that which I love about it. Because I enjoy the fragrance so much, and asked my friend if she could kindly pick up two rollerballs for me, so then I could keep them in my handbag for when I'm on the go.

Fresh Brown Sugar Rollerball

I decided to pick this up, as I thought it was the scent that Fresh use in their famous lip balms, but I'm not sure about this. Its still lovely and sweet fragrance, with a just a hint a warmth, and the fragrance will get worn mainly during the warmer months as the scent is just so sweet.

I'm really thankful to my friend who managed to pick these up on my behalf, and I'm also looking forward to using these few products, because they are lipglosses and scents which I actually like.
