Beauty Empties

Hi everyone,

It's been quite a while since I've done a post on the products that I've used up, so I thought I would share my thoughts on the products that I have used up over the past few months.

Pixi Rose Tonic
This is the second bottle of the Pixi Rose Tonic that I have gone through, and its a really nice toner. I was finding that I was going through it rather quickly. I'm now on the hunt for another rose based toner, but I could repurchase it again in the future.

L'Occitane Aqua Reotier Water Gel Cleanser
I used this cleanser as part of my evening skincare routine, and it took me a good nine months to get through it as you really don't need a lot. It has a lovely refreshing scent, and it's an really effective gel cleanser. I already have a back up ready to go once I have finished using up my current cleanser.

Rituals Cleansing Balm
This was a lovely cleansing balm from Rituals, but I went through it really quickly. It has a lovely spa like fragrance, and it did do a really good as my first cleanser as part of my skincare routine. Not too sure if I would repurchase it again, as I just went through it too quickly.

REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream
This was a really lovely moisturiser from REN, and I really enjoyed using it as part of my morning skincare routine. I got a good, solid six weeks out of this little deluxe sample, and my skin loved it. It also gave my skin a healthy glow, and made it look brighter and healthier.

Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Gel Cream
This was a lovely Vitamin C moisturiser from Ole Henriksen, even though it had the strangest custard-like consistency. It took a couple of days for me to get used to, but once I had figured out the learning curve I started to enjoy using the moisturiser.

Blistex Intensive Lip Care in 'Cherry'
I used this as my overnight lip balm, and it really worked. Don't be fooled by the tiny size of this balm, as it lasted months. Also, I really enjoyed the cherry scent of this balm.

Olay Nourishing Cleansing Balm
I got this cleansing balm to try, as my first cleanse in my evening skincare routine. It's an okay cleansing balm if you are looking for something for something on a budget, but it does have a runny consistency and I found that a lot product came out of the tube at once. It's also heavily fragranced. I don't think I will repurchase this again, as I have found another budget friendly cleansing balm that I prefer so much more.

L'Occitane Aqua Reotier Ultra Thirst Quenching Cream
This is a lovely moisturiser from L'Occitane, and I used it as part of my evening skincare routine due to it's thicker consistency. I sunk into my skin straight away, and when I woke the following morning my skin felt hydrated and supple.

Lancome Multi Lift Eye Cream
This eye cream took me a good year to use up, as you only needed to use a small amount. It also has light pink colour too it, so it brightens the under eye area. I'm unsure if I would repurchase this eye cream again, as it is quite expensive.

Clinique 'Take the Day Off' Eye Make Up Remover
This little deluxe size eye make up remover from Clinique took me forever to get through. It's a really effective eye make up remover, and it would consider buying it again once I have worked my way through the other two bottles of eye make up remover that I own.

Imperial Leather Sea Samphire & Water Mint Hand Wash
This is a gorgeous scented hand wash from Imperial Leather, and it gets the job done. I've already got another one ready to go once I have finished up my current hand wash.

Soap & Glory 'Bubble in Paradise' Shower Gel
This is a lovely gel from Soap & Glory, but I really didn't enjoy the scent as I'm not a fan of the Passion Fruit and Mango scented range as a whole. I don't think the scent works well with my natural body chemistry.

Dr Botanicals Japanese Orange Revive & Firm Facial Serum
This is the second bottle of the Japanese Orange Revive & Firm Facial Serum from Dr Botanicals that I have gone through, and this is a lovely lightweight serum that sinks into the skin straight away. I really enjoyed using this as part of my evening skincare routine and I would consider repurchasing this serum again in the future.

Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil
I have gone through a number of bottles of this facial oil over the years, and its absolutely gorgeous facial oil and it smells divine. It's so lightweight that it sinks into the skin straight away. I would repurchase this again in the future, but for the moment I'm looking into trying some more rose based facial oils. This one is still my favourite (for the moment).

Emma Hardie Brillance Facial Oil
This is the first skincare product from Emma Hardie that I've ever used, and its a gorgeous facial oil. This took me by surprise, as it has a thick consistency. But, you only need three drops at the most as it sinks into the skin straight away. It also has a lovely relaxing natural lavender fragrance. I would consider repurchasing this again in the future.

Caudalie S.O.S Serum
I've gone through a number of bottles of this serum from Caudalie over the years, and this was the first hydrating serum that I had ever used. I used this as part of my morning skincare routine. I would consider purchasing this again in the future, but for the moment I'm currently exploring different hydrating serums to see if I can find one that suits my skin a little bit more.

Feather & Down Sleep Butter
I was looking for a lavender based body butter, and the one from Feather & Down had really good reviews, so I decided to purchase a tub. This is a lovely, relaxing body butter with a gorgeous lavender scent. It does have a thick consistency, but it does sink into the skin straight away. This is also the first product from Feather & Down that I've ever used, and I would repurchase it again if I was wanting a lavender based body butter.

Soap & Glory 'A Cream Come True' Body Butter
This is from Soap & Glory's new Coconut & Green Tea range, and I was really looking forward to using it as it was coconut scented. I was expecting this to be just as enjoyable to use as the coconut body butter from the Body Shop, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The body butter itself has a really formula and consistency, but it was the scent of this that I didn't enjoy; which is a shame as I really wanted to enjoy the experience of trying out a new coconut scented body butter.

Review: L'Oreal Fine Flowers Toner

Hi everyone,

I have been using the L'Oreal Fine Flowers Toner as part of my evening skincare routine, and I'm really enjoying using it as part of that routine.

Claims
- Fresh texture to invigorate the skin
- The fresh texture invigorates the skin the last traces of impurities for a perfectly cleansed complexion
- Extracts of Rose & Jasmine flowers in a toner for soft, comfortable & fresh skin

Rose - Known for its soothing & comforting properties
Jasmine -Renowned for its protecting & moisturising properties

This toner took me by surprise, as I was expecting it to be just your usual watery toner. This isn't, as it has the consistency of an essence. Also, due to its consistency I have found that I don't need to apply as much to a cotton round.

I have found this toner to be one of the most nourishing toners I have ever come across. I feel as if this toner does something to the skin once it has been applied. It makes my skin feel clean, but also nourished and moisturised at the same time. I also feel that the essence that I apply after I have used this toner works even harder, and sinks into the skin quicker.

This toner is also quite strongly scented of Rose and Jasmine, so if you are sensitive to fragrance in your skincare I wouldn't recommend using this toner. Despite it being marketed towards people who have sensitive skin. I have combination skin, and it works well for skin needs.

I actually got this try, as a budget alternative to the Pixi Rose Tonic. I think I prefer the L'Oreal Fine Flowers toner more, as I find that it does more for my skin. It's also a budget friendly toner, and you do a lot of product for your money. Plus, with it having a thicker consistency it will last a lot longer.

This is a really lovely product from the L'Oreal skincare line, and it's great if you are looking for a toner on a budget.

Fragrance Review: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom EDT

Hi everyone,

Today I am going to review for you Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb Bloom EDT, which is a lighter but slightly different take on the original Flowerbomb fragrance.

This is a gorgeous take on the original Flowerbomb fragrance by Viktor & Rolf,  and if I'm being completely honest I actually prefer this variation more. Even though, I do own the original Flowerbomb scent as a mini and also as a rollerball.

I prefer this one more, as it's a lot lighter while at the same time its also a bit sweeter. This is also more of daytime fragrance, as it is on the light side. Don't be fooled just because it's a lighter fragrance, as I have found that this also has some staying power.

Fragrance Notes
Top Notes: Pomegranate Accord, Bergamot & Mandarin
Heart Notes: Centifolia Rose, Sambac Jasmine, Osmanthus, Cattleya Orchid, & Pure Air Molecules
Base Notes: Musk, Vanilla & Patchouli

If you are like myself, and you are not a fan of the original Flowerbomb fragrance; then I would recommend that you try this and see what you think. I know that the Flowerbomb fragrances aren't for everyone, but you could always explore the range and see if there's one that might suit you and your individual scent profile.

A Mini Beauty Haul

 Hi everyone,

I have recently done a little bit of shopping in Boots, M&S and also Fragrance Direct.

Velvet Heart Make Up Bag
This is a very roomy bag that is made from a velvet like material, with a lovely little heart on the front. This caught my eye, as soon as it came into M&S. It's also very reasonably priced, as the size of the make up bag is on the large side.

Seasalt & Freesia 100ml EDT
This is another budget friendly version of the Jo Malone fragrance 'Wood Sage & Sea Salt'. I got this as I thought it would be ideal to wear for work, as it's a very light fresh, floral fragrance; that can be worn all year round.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche 50ml EDT
This is a lovely light, fresh scent from the Chanel Chance line. I already own this fragrance in the purse version, and its gorgeous to wear during the Spring and Summer months. I've always liked this fragrance from Chanel, but I have now decided to buy as a bottled fragrance, as well as having the purse friendly version.

Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme 50ml EDP
This is a lovely, but sophisticated fragrance from Dolce & Gabbana that can be worn either through out the day or during the evening. This is an absolutely gorgeous fragrance that is also very versatile.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Treatment
I was after a lip exfoliator that wasn't that messy, and then it dawned on me about the Lanolips Lemonade Lip Treatment. This is a lovely exfoliating lip treatment, which doesn't have the mess unlike a lip scrub. I have also found this not only to be exfoliating, but it also provides nourishment to the lips; and an added bonus its smells like fresh lemonade. I'm kicking myself for not purchasing this sooner.

Review: Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

Hi everyone,

I have recently started to use the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug, as my first cleanse in my morning skincare routine.

Claims
- Rich in natural Vitamin E
- High in antioxidants to help defend the skin against environmental damage
- Uses oatmeal to help provide a gentle but effective exfoliation to reveal a deeply cleansed, soft and radiant skin
- Enriched with naturally sourced Vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant that will protect the skin against environmental damage and premature ageing by combating the harmful effects of free radicals
- The indulgent formula also contains a skin conditioning multivitamin complex that comprises of Vitamins A, B, F & H; which is also combined with Horse Chestnut extract to help care for dry skin.
- Suitable for normal to dry skin

This is a lovely hot cloth cleanser from the Vitamin E range from Superdrug. It has a really lovely thick consistency that applies really well to the skin, and once warm water has been added it makes the hot cloth cleanser even more effective.

The Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser does have a mild powdery scent to it, but once water has been added to it the scent seems to disappear. Once the cleanser has been has been removed by using warm water the scent doesn't stay on the skin.

This is a lovely hot cloth cleanser to use, and its also a fantastic budget friendly option. It has a lovely thick consistency, which messages into the skin easily; and it does an effective job at cleansing skin. I've also found that it doesn't irritate my skin, but that doesn't mean that it will affect your skin type as does have a mild fragrance to this cleanser.

I use the Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser as the first cleanse in my evening skincare routine, and once it has been removed I find that my skin feels slightly nourished and a little hydrated.

I have been thoroughly impressed with this cleanser from Superdrug's Vitamin E range, and I would love to explore some more of Superdrug's skincare.

Superdrug Haul

 Hi everyone,

I have recently been doing some shopping recently in Superdrug, as I was in need of a few things plus there was a few things that I have been wanting to try over the past few months.

Imperial Leather Limited Edition Shower Gels
The scents from the new limited edition Imperial Leather shower gel range really appealed to me, so I chose two scents that appealed to me the most. The scents I chose were Coco Colada and Shake Your Bambootay. The Coco Colada scent is a refreshing fruity coconut fragrance while Shake Your Bambootay is a fruity bamboo fragrance. Just by smelling them I think I'm going to enjoy the Shake Your Bambootay shower gel the most.

Superdrug Fruity Shower Gels in Orange & Satsuma and Cherry & Almond
I've always wanted to try the shower gels from Superdrug, but I have never got around to it until now. I've always liked orange scented products so I decided to purchase the Orange & Satsuma fragrance to see what its like; and the Cherry & Almond scented shower gel is one that I'm really looking forward to using as it smells heavenly and 'good enough to eat'.

Superdrug Vitamin E Body Creams in Lavender & Hibiscus
I'm currently using my last body butter, and I wanted to try one from Superdrug, so I decided to try the fragrances in Lavender & Hibiscus. The lavender fragrance will work beautifully before bedtime, and the hibiscus fragrance should be lovely to use throughout the year. Also, a potion of the price of the hibiscus body cream goes to charity.

Studio London Blush Brush & Powder Brush
I decided to purchase another one of each brushes that I posted in my previous Superdrug Haul, as they are so soft and really sturdy. These aren't bad brushes, and really good quality for being such a purse friendly price.

MUA Pro Base Fixing Spray
I got the Pro Base Fixing Spray by MUA, as I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my MAC Fix+ to foil my eyeshadows and pigments. This is what I was looking for and it was only £4, so I'm hoping that it will foil my eyeshadows just as well as my trustworthy MAC Fix+.

NYX Glitter Glue
I decided to get a tube of the famous glitter glue from NYX, as I've just purchased a few pigments that have glitter in them and I needed something a little stronger than just my standard eye primer.

Fragrance Review: Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme EDP

Hi everyone,

I have recently treated myself to a bottle of Pour Femme by Dolce & Gabbana. It's a lovely warm fruity fragrance that is very wearable for both during the day and in the evening.

Fragrance Notes
Top Notes: Mandarin Orange, Raspberry & Neroli
Heart Notes: Orange Blossom & Jasmine
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Marshmallow & Heliotrope

This is a lovely wearable fragrance that can be worn either during the day and also in the evening. The fragrance on myself pulls more of a darker raspberry, but with some added to depth. So, to me this is a more sophisticated fruity fragrance and nothing like the sweet fragrances that you would usually come across.

The reason why I said that this would make an ideal 'going out' fragrance is because of the added depth it has within the base notes. Also, the base notes adds a warmth to the fragrance to give it something a little extra; but without overdoing it.

This fragrance would be an ideal gift for someone who you know that adores a fruity fragrance, but looking for a something a little different and slightly unique.

This is wonderful fragrance from Dolce & gabbana that be worn both during the day and in the evening; and it would also make a nice fragrance to wear during the Autumn and Winter months.
